Dr. Daniel Baik is a board-certified Gastroenterologist proudly leading Gastroenterology Associates of Central Jersey (GACJ). Continuing the patient-first legacy established nearly four decades ago by his father, Dr. Andrew Baik, he is dedicated to serving the Central Jersey community where he grew up, blending a personable approach with leading-edge medical expertise.

Dr. Baik earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, followed by residency and fellowship training at Temple University Hospital. He then completed an additional year of specialized fellowship training in Advanced Interventional Endoscopy at Indiana University Hospital. This advanced training equips Dr. Baik to offer patients the most effective and least invasive solutions for a wide range of digestive conditions, reflecting his commitment to providing optimal, state-of-the-art care.

"My approach is rooted in partnership and truly understanding each patient's unique situation," says Dr. Baik. "I believe in meticulous evaluation to find the root cause of symptoms, considering all factors including lifestyle, and then developing the optimal, least invasive treatment plan together. Giving patients back their quality of life is my greatest reward."

At GACJ, Dr. Baik focuses on providing comprehensive care for common GI conditions, including expert colon cancer screening (colonoscopy), management of acid reflux (GERD), evaluation of abdominal pain, and more, ensuring patients receive top-tier care grounded in the latest knowledge. His advanced fellowship training and extensive experience—including establishing and leading South Jersey's busiest third-space endoscopy program during his previous tenure as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cooper University Health Care—provide him with nationally recognized expertise in complex procedures. His specialized skills include:

• Third Space Endoscopy (E-POEM, G-POEM, Z-POEM): Offering incisionless treatments for motility disorders.

• Advanced EUS and ERCP: For precise diagnosis and treatment of complex pancreatic and biliary conditions.

• Endoscopic Resection (EMR/ESD): Minimally invasive removal of large polyps and early cancers.

 

Reflecting his leadership in the field, Dr. Baik has been appointed the inaugural Medical Director of Third Space Endoscopy at Virtua Health, South Jersey's largest health system. He will begin developing this advanced program in Summer 2025. His previous experience teaching medical fellows and his role as an invited expert lecturer at medical conferences ensure he remains at the forefront of gastroenterology, bringing the latest advancements directly to patient care.  Dr. Baik also performs procedures locally at Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.

Dr. Baik has been consistently recognized by his peers and patients, receiving 'Top Doctor' awards from Philadelphia Magazine (2024, 2025), Jersey's Best Magazine (2024), and Jersey's Best - Top Doctors for Cancer (2024, 2025). He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
